THIS is the selection process for grants that we should be using for nostr projects. Allowing bitcoin dictatorships, like the HRF (Human Rights Foundation) and Opensats, dictate for us on whether or not projects are "worthy" of a grant will only lead to the potential stifling of innovation and the loss of interest in nostr, in general. That's my two cents. #nostr #bitcoin

nostr:npub107jk7htfv243u0x5ynn43scq9wrxtaasmrwwa8lfu2ydwag6cx2quqncxg that OpenGraph looks very classy. Nice.
I worked really hard on that. I had hoped it would at least start a constructive conversation about potential reforms, but it just got me muted.
Nostr user: "I believe in freedom!"
Laeserin: "Well, then we shouldn't just let dictatorial organizations like OpenSats and the HRF decide what direction Nostr should take through the use of potential grant offerings, because then developers will always be at risk of having funding taken away if they don't abide by their grantor's guidelines and wishes. Then we'd just be repeating the same mistakes that users of centralized platforms and services continue to make to this day. A new, more democratic system where all Nostriches have a voice in the grant decision-making processāas well as in determining how large grants should beāis a more innovative approach. Isn't innovation and freedom what Nostr is supposed to be all about? A protocol where all those who are willing to voice their opinion on polarizing infrastructural matters genuinely possess some degree of stewardship over the protocol, rather than just pretending they do."
Other Nostr users: "š”š¤¬How dare you go against the most followed people on Nostr!!! I'm going to make the completely illogical assumption that you're a Marxist and tell everyone to mute you!"
Yeah, basically.
