I am too, big disparity, technology moves fast, the longer I take thinking about it, the cheaper it gets. I really just stayers investigating it. But pcpartpicker.com seems to be the place to start.

No, but I want to put it together from pieces for the fun/challenge. I have zero training/education but am extremely resourceful and get extremely gratification from building stuff (more than actually using it)
