On Twitter even if I don’t follow a person or engage in a conversation/thread it will show up in my feed because someone else I follow is engaging with them. I’ve muted people and threads in Twitter and still had them show up at the top of my feed every time someone I follow replies. And it’s not just the reply, but Twitter will still show the original tweet with it even though I’ve muted it. And because Twitter shows me “what I’ve missed” even if I close the app for a while it shoves it back in my face when open it again. Here I can unfollow or mute the person and I never see their posts. I may see replies from people I follow if I’m looking at the replies tab when they happen but otherwise I don’t see the conversation.
