#PennedPossibilities 681, Evil vs Antagonist

While I really want to write an evil wanker, my brain doesn't do binary things like good/evil very well, so I always end up with more of an antagonist.

Even the child eating demon has an intricate, tragic origin. I don't always like this about my writing. Why do I have such a natural empathy for the devil? It's a little too easy to fill in the background blanks and humanize evil. It's too Hollywood for my taste.

That's a good thing, not a bad thing. I hate flat black and white tropes. Why would you want to take away deapth from your characters?
