Phoenix, Blixt, Mutiny, Breez, now Zeus. All with certain trade offs and strengths. I understand Wallet of Satoshi and Alby have their place, but. Non custodial mobile options are really stepping it up.

Also when feasible, nothing beats on chain utxo. Lest anyone new to all this get too involved with just lighting.

Between nostr and all these options, this year has been a whiplash of interoperability and utility.

It’s the node software that needs the help. The wallets ui and reliability have really stepped up but node software is still slow and not reliable enough for most to use. I just set up nostr:npub1wxl6njlcgygduct7jkgzrvyvd9fylj4pqvll6p32h59wyetm5fxqjchcan and it took 15 seconds no effort. That never happens with nodes.

I mean, I still use Alby for my receiving and zapping wallet here with NWC, but for my stacking and eventual on chain withdrawal I'm not keeping that in my Alby. Plus the new Zeus I can manage both my Alby and main mobile balance.

For a not super tech savvy nerd, I guess I'm easily impressed 😂

You’re ahead of the nerd… I mean the curve

I do need to check out new Zeus.

I was literally just pondering which one I want to try but I haven't yet researched all the differences of the ones you mentioned.

I used Phoenix the longest but the new fee structure and splicing has me scratching my head some. It still performs really well otherwise.

Blixt and Mutiny I haven't spent enough time with them, and are a little clunkier, Blixt specifically has a ton of in depth features meant for people more skilled than me.

The Zeus beta, I've only tried for the last several hours but I'm really liking it so far.

Non of this is advice. Just words of some doof.

I’ve been using Breez for two years and it’s still my favorite mobile self custodial wallet. Phoenix screwed things up with their new fees so I’m not using it any more. Zeus is very promising and I haven’t tried Mutiny, but I’m also not going to put a substantial amount of funds on either of them yet. Breez is reliable, easy interface for everyday use, and powerful advanced features under the hood for those who need them.

Really used to like Phoenix and wanted to like the update, but I just can't shake those fees. Send too much it's nears on chain fees anyway, send too little you get that minimum 4 sat fee. And the .4% base fee seems too high, especially considering if you send on chain now it even lowers your channel inbound capacity due to the splicing.

Seems the new Zeus takes 2 sats for incoming payments if using the LSP and about .1% for outgoing payments. Breez still sits in my LN folder just in case 😂

I appreciate all the info!
