I’ve really come to believe that people who believe Anthropomorphic climate change is an imminent catastrophe, are part of a pseudo scientific, politically motivated doomsday cult.

The cult of Enlightened Despotism. 500 years and going strong.
The current climate hysteria is just the Nth lever those on top of the pyramid come up with to advance the particular iteration they want to deploy on us all this time.
But the underlying religious belief in a small group of self-appointed rational, "science-based", benevolent tyrants centrally planning the world on behalf of the Greater Good ("All for the People, without the People") is the same in today's Europe/US and China as it was in the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany, as it was in France in the 18th century, pre and post Revolution.
