Haha. Good! We need people who are willing to touch that stuff with a 10 foot pole to bring back leanings. One thing I’m seeing is that people seem to really like trusting their identity to a third party.

They also don’t like being censored lol.

How has it been over there for you?

To be honest I have a long & complex relationship with Meta due to being on Facebook, Instagram & have a Quest 2.

They have made it incredibly easy for anyone with an existing Instagram account to sign in, then it allowed me to automatically add everyone I already followed on Instagram, but the people I have followed they can still opt out of me following them if they have a private account when they sign up.

So many people & companies are already on there due to how easy this process is. I have already ported across 4 other Instagram accounts I have because it was so easy to do.

There are so many good memes over there. The vibe is people on the exodus from Twitter who are super happy to be giving Elon the finger as well as creatives such as photographers & artists from Instagram feeling like they can be part of the discussions so it is merging into one mega community.

I am a big believer in the Jobs To Be Done philosophy. I think Zuck has played a smart game getting Threads ready (including using Instagram to build it instead of another FB-engineered piece of bloatware) & Elon has hit a critical mass of people wanting somewhere else to go.

Nostr feels like the Batman in this equation. It could be the protocol that the world needs for freedom, but Meta seem to have won today with Threads.
