Good on you for both finding a workaround and for asking.

I suspect more will be asking, and they will have incentive to add it sooner than later.

To add that function, it must insert a Liquid node, which increases the cost of the server

That makes sense. Perhaps devs will find a new way in the near future, or regular plebs a clever workaround. (Sending liquid over lightning rails, etc.)
