systemd is a topic that still triggers warnings among Linux and Unix veterans. I made my peace because my job needed it. I moved on. In a few more years, they will replace systemd with something else, or systemd will become everything. Every binary will be just a symlink to /usr/bin/systemd (we already have such a situwation with busybox if you use minimal distro such as Alpine. I'm not saying Alpine is bad here. I love Alpine Linux). The irony of this prospect amuses me. What do you think?

I don’t think systemd will ever be reduced to one binary.
