A’ight brainiacs, ponder this if you will. Chatting with my brother as to how to disable the tracking chip in your car computer, he says attach a Faraday cage to the chip’s container. Is it that simple? Nothing ever is…

Of course the issues that arise when you wish to engage GPS etc requires that it be easily accessible and removable. Next, would that interfere with the vehicle’s daily operation?

On tacomas you can remove the fuse that powers it. It is labeled DCM. You lose the use of the microphone, but that seems to be the only side effect. I imagine that most Toyotas are similar.

A Faraday cage around the chip won't do anything and isn't feasible because the cables coming into it prevent full coverage. Disconnecting the antenna(s) would prevent it from receiving GPS signals and transmitting data. You would lose use of OnStar, GPS navigation, maybe software updates. Do your own research. Good luck.
