I haven't explored #zeus for almost a year. If I understand this correctly I can open a channel from a hardware wallet now. This is unfairly bullish.

i dont need zeus for that

i got better tools in node managment

no need to have node in the pocket

i can just connect to my home private node

with various different apps

a channel is still hard to recover

and there is still a high risk in loosing a channel!

Good for you, but some people don't have the same level of stability.

i just wanted to make the point that its still a channel and the backup is a force close of the channel with risk of low fee broadcast

You can always cpfp the anchor on a force close on an embedded node wallet the same as you can with a remote node wallet.

So this "risk" is just a pain in the dick...?

While mobile nodes are more prone to these FCs, remote nodes have to handle them in the same way.

There is also value in more people being able to turn old mobile devices into nodes easily.
