By “meat craze” so you mean: natural diet that most of our European ancestors would have eaten?
I mean the endless photos of dripping flesh we are subjected to on social media in the last few years on "right"-leaning social media, something that pretty much didn't exist before, and the fad idea that meat is a necessity and its consumption a virtue. As for most of our ancestors eating meat, the accuracy of that statement depends on 1) the timeframe you mean, and 2) what percentage of the diet you mean. Nice to see another person who is proudly using his middle name!
