It really shouldn't be this hard to convince people they need real money, basic privacy, and an uncensorable social media/ world wide pleb web. But here we are. Lots of snorlax out there.

The education system is flawed in a big big way
Westerners will be harder to convince since our currencies have been more stable for a little while. The trust in the institution controlling the currency has to worsen from currency issues before more start looking for alternatives. The normalcy bias is strong.
True. Convenience runs most westerners lives.
I think it was a long way here. Small elements added up to reach this point.
So I assume we either need an abrupt change that wakes people up. Like when someone has a death close experience, that changes him/her. But most of the times these come after its too late.
Or it will be a slow process to teach people the necessity of these.
For the money part, usually hyperinflation and losing everything is enough to learn, but this knowledge fades away with newer generation. History shows.
For privacy, I don't want to learn on my skin what happens if things go wrong.
Bitcoin pump will attract some people like 🧀
