Also reminds me a a Ross Bleckner painting.

I love these Bleckner’s… maybe painting has an ability to allow us to hold opposing things at the same time, tragedy and beauty, etc… the Bleckner series of Falling Birds, I wonder if these came out of all of the heartbreak and loss in 90’s New York

I think it does. The idea of a falling bird is synonymous with surreal events, sci-fi alien invasions, outbreaks, death. So fragile is life that any sudden change is met with the end. Stunning really.
