What do you all think about this?

1. Replace likes with # of zaps the post received

2. Show the total value zapped as well

Like #[0] said likes are cheap but zap value only would let one person game the system by just throwing a bunch of sats at a post. # of zaps is a little more naturally honest.

I’d be uncomfortable with people knowing the # of zaps I received and/or how much (which I think is already happening).

It’s like opening birthday presents at the party instead of thanking everyone and opening them at home.

When guests don’t know what was given but receive thanks anyway everyone leaves the party feeling appreciated Vs Opening gifts in front of people and those who didn’t have as much to spend or who didn’t get you what you wanted feel unappreciated.

Maybe getting rid of the likes button would suffice and people could repost things they like but exposing sats feels tacky.

I’m not sure I understand what you mean? Like private relays vs public relays or like a close friends type situation? Or do you mean like a setting that can make zaps private/public?

Oh ok! I understand now. That’s a great idea! That way there is an option.
