Bingo. Free is correct. Albumin comes into play too, but it’s a much weaker binder than SHBG. You could have 1,000 ng/dL total, but if your SHBG is too high, you’ll look like a vegan.

I found that boron is an excellent nutrient to mitigate that effect.
