Satoshi did just that with the design of Bitcoin.

Knowing this system will be attacked at every turn, made it decentralized, bootstrapped it and left.

With the fixed supply, halving and difficulty adjustments we know the issuance schedule. This gives everyone that takes the time to learn about this, the same mentality. We all know when how long and how much bitcoin will be distributed so we can all have that end goal in mind.

It lowers ones time preference and opens you up to planning for your long term future.

We just need to get some in case this thing catches on.
