On YouTube and other services you can "buy" content. What rights are you buying?

You cannot download it to possess locally. You cannot share it with your friends, or even sell it to your friends.

It sounds like the word "buy" is a misnomer, and at the very least inaccurate?

Yeah, it's more like a long-term rental, which I suppose you would lose access to, if you or those services ever disappear.

So then are they obligated to maintain the file? Are they obligated to maintain relationships v with movie "owners"? I suspect the answer is no. That seems like a low value proposition.

I wonder if they do arbitration.
