Even with premium, the algorithm is completely hit or miss. I had an account that was got like 8m impressions in three months, but exclusively from replies. Maybe 50k impressions were on original content, but they were driven by the viral replies.

What a waste of time. I wrote long form posts about various things like the efficacy of the COVID vaccine and how all gun laws violate the constitution and scotus precedent supporting that, and those type of posts got like 1000 impressions and like 10 likes. Depressing.

That was right when they came out with premium, the algo was boosting the fuck out of my replies. Ended up getting banned for calling myself retarded, and no account after that even remotely approached those numbers. I get far more engagement here than on X.

I have an account, which I only use so I can check twitter if I want, I don’t post, but it has existed as long as this npub. It has 1 follower. The most followers I had on X was 450, just short of monetization, before I got banned. Every account after that didn’t surpass 50 followers after several months.

I created this npub in September or October, approaching 500 followers. Significantly faster growth than any platform I’ve experienced, especially considering I don’t really create anything.
