GM #Nostr β˜•πŸ˜ΆπŸ€™

Currently having a tough time, ngl. πŸ˜”

Mum is really struggling now. There's no way she can drive now, so she needs help with getting to appointments. Family and close friends are visiting from far and wide to basically say their goodbyes. So my wife and I are effectively running a guesthouse on top of it all. Despite putting on a front, of course the kids are picking up on the stress, so that's also complicating things. My boy has been unwell yet again over the last couple of weeks, initially a fever, but now with a lingering cough. Sleep is very disrupted, so my patience is continually being tested with an unusually grouchy and moody little boy.

To top it all my mother in law has just had a fall, and has fractured a lumber vertibrae, and may need surgery as it's a complex fracture.

My own back has been fighting me at times too, as it really doesn't like the added stress, but I hardly feel in a position to complain.

I am also coming to terms with permanently losing 400k sats on Minibits, which is a very substantial amount to me. I don't know where this lost sats end up, but I've tried various reinstalls, and they're not there. I feel bad for not telling my wife too. But the timing is crap.

I really wanted to get the garden and food forest sorted this Spring, after much neglection, but again it's going to be a struggle this year. Although I kind of need the garden work as something positive to work toward, and it's valuable time spent teaching the boy some skills, if I can get it.

Sorry for the downer, frens, but I thought I'd explain why I'm not so active on Nostr right now. It's usually a great source of positivity, so I will try to drop in to at least read a few notes.

Love to you all. πŸ«‚πŸ’œ

I'll keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. Even though you are giving all your time and energy to others, you absolutely must take short breaks for yourself, just take a walk, listen to music, or simply some quiet time with a book. The last thing you want is to fall ill during times like this. Take care of yourself my friend.

That’s a link to a pdf copy of my book: The Accidental Caregiver’s Guide. Chapter one and two specifically may help you or your spouse with your mother in law to navigate the hospital and rehab.

Hope you find it helpful.
