I like to analyse advertising, I can't really help it, I do the same with film.
There is, on a concious level here, an attempt to conjur up images of the 'flower power' hippy era.
That is on the surface.
But the choice to cover the single eye is so deliberate that it begs the question of why?
My immediate impression is that of a battered woman, like she has been given a black eye.
This is similar to the type of imagery used in domestic abuse public advertising, are they perhaps trying to create an unconcious link with sympathy for domestic abuse victims and the climate bullshit?
My suspicions that this is the case are further heightened by the specific mention on motherhood.
