I just signed up for the Grand Traverse ski mountaineering race and, of course, my teammate bailed on me. I’ve got until the 15th to get a new partner sorted out.

If you don’t know the race, it’s basically an overnight haul from Crested Butte to Aspen on skis. Lots of climbing, lots of being out in the dark, and a ton of elevation. The race is about 40 miles. My only goal is to finish. I’m moderately fit at best, my claim to fame is running an 8:30 beer mile, so I’m not out here chasing podiums.
