What is the deal with this mudra and nostr? It used to mean "call me". It's also the pose that makes the longest distance between pinkie and thumb. It's not the owl of metalheads and Bohemian Grover's.

🀟 is the one I like, American sign for I Love You. And πŸ–• and the old English taunt of the bow fingers, the origin of the "forks" not the "peace" forks or the V for Victory of Churchill.

for me, it either used to me "call me" or surfer lingo "hang ten" or "hang loose". it depends on who was doing it. we started using this here last December when nostr:npub1sg6plzptd64u62a878hep2kev88swjh3tw00gjsfl8f237lmu63q0uf63m started posting them all over the place when he greeted people. since then, we've adopted it as part of our culture here on nostr.

Ah yeah, I forgot that one. And you wiggle your wrist back and forth, where the "call me" tends to more be picked up like you are answering a phone.

I just have always thought of it as the way you can put two fingers pressure on far apart objects instead of using both hands, good for holding flat things against walls and such.
