I’m new here, why are most of the pictures blurry until clicked on? Am I doing something wrong?

Maybe, try closing your app and reopening it. Sometimes it takes a few seconds longer for the picture to come through.

Are the photos blurry for people you don’t follow? Check your settings to see if it’s blurring images of anyone you don’t follow.

Assuming you’re using Damus.
