The Syrian Center for Economic Research (SCER), a non-governmental organization, has proposed that the transitional government legislate Bitcoin and digitize the Lira.

Contrary to some reports from 'crypto' media, the transitional government has not approved or considered this proposal and is unlikely to do so in the near future due to more pressing issues at hand.

What evidence is there that The Syrian Center for Economic Research is a serious organization that even exists other than putting out this one recommendation?

Thanks for specifying that it's not a government proposal, people were going a little nuts over this thing.
