Eh, I’d disagree here. I’ve had the great fortune of an upbringing surrounded by many civil/human-rights minded, anti-zionist Jewish and allied non-Jewish people. The two (anti-semitism and anti-zionism) need not go together at all.

The wider issues I would say is that baseline antisemitism - the kind that’s designed to be hidden and built into the bedrock of our society (like baseline racism) - compels even people who believe they mean well to speak of “The Jews” and makes its very difficult for them to separate Jewish people (a myriad views, backgrounds, religiosity alignments, and ethnicities) and whatever the Israeli state is doing today…

Fair enough. Unfortunately, as things stand today you’re probably right about this in practice.
