one reason bots happen is because there is no personal consequence for the people doing it.

how would that collective effort look like?

What kind of collective effort?

if, for example, it turned out to be a disgruntled nostr developer trying to force a change through mass scale harassment, mass mute them and boycott their projects.

Thinking as a user, I believe it's something that each of us has to control for ourselves. So far, I've silenced five.

Perhaps the best approach is to educate the user, spread the word of the attack as quickly as possible and give the user the tools to act.

good to know.

i wont look to you for help during times of defense or fires.

I have never been in a fire. In earthquakes, yes. As for defense, I am a net organizer.

What I don't like is vendetta.

thats your label.

an incorrect one that comes from generations of Statist comfort, outsourcing defense and justice. i reject it outright.

I’m all ears on how to impose personal consequences for bot controllers…
