I am no technical expert. But mixing is a centralized service, and that is very super suspicious. I am no longer mixing after I realized this. Also, I do not like app versions that start with 0.

Instead, I use my own lightning node and several noKYC custodial wallets to send my sats around and finally get back on chain to a fresh address. Just make sure to hide well behind tor and noKYC prepaid sim card and safe devices when using the custodial wallets. And sure - no direct lightning channel to the custodial wallet nodes, and no sending of identical amounts all the way. Should be safe as far as I can figure. But manual labor it is.

Thanks for the info. I’m not technically able to run a LN node. I know a senior dev who has trouble with his.

Don't hire that dev. He must be full of sh... if he has trouble at this level.

I can assure you that running your own lightning node is no problem at all. If you are capable of using Nostr, you are definitely good enough. If you have never installed any Linux OS on a laptop, here is the fool proof way to run your own lightning node without Linux:

Buy Raspberry Pi4 with at least 4GB RAM and an external USB hard drive (or SSD) with 2TB disk space. Go to umbrel.com and copy their software to SD card for use in the Raspberry. There is step by step instruction for Raspberry on umbrel.com website. Once you have umbrel running on your Raspberry, use its appstore to install Bitcoin app. Wait about a week for it to sync 100%, then install lightning node app. In that app open a channel with 2 or 3 other nodes that you can find ranked at 1ml.com . Do not open more, because then Raspberry starts lagging. That is it. Any problems on the way - let me know.

If you have a wifi or wired router at home - you are good with notworks. Don't worry about technical network security or privacy. Just follow the instructions, and umbrel takes care of everything.

Don't put so much money on it that you would be upset losing. At least until you have tried erasing everything and successfully restoring from backup. Chances are low, but still, first times are first times.

I can see now umbrel.com are even selling a ready device pre-installed, ready to launch your own node. You might want to just buy it.

Hey thank you for taking the time to write this all up. I will look into it further.

I just realized that phone and pc may know its location by wifi signals. So in theory you may still be identifyable by location habits even if you have taken care of noKYC sim card and everything else. So for proper privacy, I guess, the noKYC device must be disconnected from batery whenever not in a secure location. And no other devices should ever go to the secure location. I hope wifi chips are not capable of announcing themselves nor store any info within themselves while without batery?
