Maybe it's just the people I knew growing up. Super leftist mostly. And when you're in that community you gotta stay in the closet if you're republican lol. People will just hate you immediately.

Thing is, it worked before because the government was on their side, which is why they freaked out so much last time Trump was in office and they're freaking out so much now. Once big daddy state and media isn't there to embolden them, cancelling people doesn't work.
You have to be in such a weird state of mind to want to cancel someone. Never heard anyone else wanting to do this

I know people who still think JK Rowling is literally Satan. Hate her guts for speaking up against transgenderism. And still love the Harry Potter franchise and base their personalities on it.
And this mindset basically applies to anyone not on the communist left, and is how you get Bluesky.
