“Pablo, why are wikifreedia URLs so long?”

👉 That’s where the “decentralized” part comes in.

The long URL includes the relays where the entry was published. This looks annoying but no one said freedom must have nice URLs.

For what it’s worth, you can also use nice looking URLs to fetch articles from the author’s relays with a nicer looking URL like

https://wikifreedia.xyz/no-cold-war-(campagin)/6c2d79de2d469232

Or to see topics that live within a certain set of relays you can have the nicest looking URL

https://wikifreedia.xyz/art

Isn’t it crazy that we can have both within the same protocol? nostr:note1xuy4hkhtm9ehjave26res326mwwg7cj9pyhl30xxp2fcrsrgg3ds4k05fg

Basically the longer the URL, the more decentralized it is!

Mediawiki is better

why aren't you on X

I don't know why aren't you, why should I?

yup

DNS sucks - Legacy CENTRALIZED naming system

nostr / naddr / note /nevents looooong string can woork over onion also

Fun fact: If Fiatjaf had opted to use ed2551 (i can never spell this curve name right, i apologize XD) instead of "the bitcoin thing", npubs, naddrs and alike would have *also* been capable to be used as v3 onions and i2p addresses.

クレイジー🤙

Always do the best you can do with what you’ve got.

Based

How do we put an article under a certain topic?

And what should we use for links? The full link or just the naddr?
