One things I’ve been telling my friends is that you need to make sure you’re having fun with it, one way or another, no matter what you’re working on in life. Otherwise, what’s the point?

Otherwise, the point could be out of necessity to put food on the table and survive. Otherwise, the point could be to suck it up now in order to reap the benefits later. Otherwise, the point could be that not everything in life is always going to be fun, but sometimes those things still have to happen, and someone has to do them.
