The Ukrainian town of Energodar, under Russian occupation since March 2022 and located right next to the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, is being evacuated. This information was advanced by the Ukrainian intelligence service, which also reported that Russian roadblocks in the region were lifted to speed up the city's evacuation process.
This information comes after Zelensky accused Russia of planting explosives in at least 4 reactors at the plant and after Putin accused Ukraine of planning to launch missiles against the facilities.
An attack on the plant has the potential to cause the biggest and most devastating nuclear accident in history, something like the Cherbonyl accident, but multiplied many times over.
