Currently grinding through the NIPs and "Mastering Bitcoin." Also fascinated by the encrypted messaging space (#Bitchat and NIP17) and protocol-level challenges.

Is it viable to have a system, where there is a small crc/hash within a payload, calculated from the payload itself, as an alternative to PoW of finding a hard hash.
