A prism is created to provide better visibility. If you use "$ boost" (written together and without the signs) after 12 hours or 10 boosts the Prism will be created. Nostriches who see this are "encouraged" to share the note because they find it interesting or/and there could be a small reward at the end. The creator of the note then has the opportunity to zap the Prism. Clients such as Amethyst support this function and then distribute the Zap evenly to all participants. So if you zap the Prism with 1000 sats, for example, then with 10 participants everyone will get 100 sats. In addition to the “$ boost” command, there are also other (like & comment) and other ways to define the Prism. In my understanding, it is a tool that can ensure higher visibility for Notes on Nostr using very interesting functions.
