Only if you measure things in dollar. I don't believe that's more efficient.

Most businesses and people denominate their prices/costs relative to dollars/fiat, though. Even Bitcoin companies do this. So in that regard, a 1M sat channel can now facilitate more than double the dollar-denominated value compared to a year ago.
