supposedly Moso bamboo can grow 2 inches per hour in the right conditions. thats amazing. youd think there would be heat production from that intense of a reaction

Oh wow, looked it up and seems it's one of fastest. Efficient photosynthesis and efficient "culm structure" (hollow tube plus diaphragm) are cited as primary reasons.
Tomatoes definitely give off signs of hard work. Constantly sweating and thirsty. Perhaps even noticeable heat, though hard to be sure; could be just more humid near plant or something
