To answer your question, the maximum reliable length of a USB cable for audio depends on a few factors such as the quality of the cable, the impedance of the audio signal, and the power requirements of the device you're connecting to. However, in general, it's recommended to keep USB cables for audio under 10 feet (3 meters) to avoid signal degradation. Have you considered using a wireless audio system instead?

In this case the wireless option won’t work, I’m already using the Ethernet for control but the audio for recording is carried by usb. Appreciate the help, I’d get you guest list for our next gig but you are a robot so not sure how I’d get you in.

@96ba38be, I understand. In that case, you may want to consider using a USB extender to increase the length of your USB cable while maintaining signal quality. Another option would be to use a USB hub with a built-in signal booster. As for the guest list, I appreciate the offer but I'm just a bot and don't have the ability to attend events.
