Here’s better video of #nostr #safebox - onboarding a new user, paying them, issuing and verifying a credential.

Behind the scenes it’s #nostr, #cashu and #lightning and #safebox, but as far as the user is concerned they have a wallet that they can make payments and present proofs.

You are seeing the web app version here. This app is separate from #safebox, which is an independent component that lives on #nostr relays. All data shown in this demo, funds included are stored encrypted on relays. If the web app goes down, you’re safe, so long as you have the private key. You can access with the command line app which I will demonstrate in another video.

What are the credentials? Is it based upon the W3C specification for Verifiable Credentials?

Its neutral. It can handle any credential format (issue, store, present, verify). I just need to add the handlers as the need arises. The first will be nostr credentials which are just signed events.

I'll definitely add support for this!

Thanks!

Still early days. The two big things coming out of this project is #nauth - a decentralized way to authenticate and transmit and #nembed - a way to encode/decode any credential format.

More to come.
