Well, it is time to be done with work for the night, and look for dinner. I think I smell roast!

I did yard work today and went to the auction house this evening . There was no silver coin or bullion for me to buy, so I settled on a 9” Wagner Ware cast iron skillet. It is clean and in good condition, though not seasoned, and the brand is recognizable.

I am going to wash it up and see what it’ll do in the morning. I’m seeing fried eggs & potatoes for breakfast tomorrow…. 😋😋

Old cast iron is the best! Although my fav pan is a Lodge that i've had for many years, nice and worn. Not antique, but has had lots of use.

I love the legacy (story) of cast iron. My grandpa gave me one of his dutch ovens before he passed 13 years ago. It isn't old (late 1970's), and doesn't have a recognized brand. But Grandpa cooked his meals in it. I'm collecting a set of skillets for each of my kids to take with them when they leave home.

Thats a great legacy that your kids will cherish.
