Other than that, you should be able to do everything (dunno about the firmware updates) just through Sparrow w/no Ledger Live.

PIN self destructed it yesterday (invalid PIN 3X), recorded new recovery words in Bitwarden (#reckless), had to download and use Ledger Live for the bitcoin wallet. *sigh*
But man, an old Ledger Nano S's with Sparrow, just feels good. So clean, bitcoin focused. Glad I was able to get it to work, couldn't before on a different computer.
I know the factory pre-load is not the best option, maybe a way to check it with something that's not Ledger Live. I mean to use it, we're already trusting their random number generator, so the thought was a commercially available product that could be used with FOSS (Sparrow), for half the cost of what they're charging now for the S Plus, which bitcoin-only doesn't need.
