This is a NWC Uncle Jim setup, right? What assurance is there that users won’t get rugged?
Discussion
Same assurances as every other custodial wallet service. I'm operating in Australian as a registered company and I pay my taxes rather than some company registered in Cyprus. Australia has very strict and enforced consumer protection laws. Australia has very strict privacy laws so I can't sell or use any data I collect.
Using Cloudflare and AWS and not some dodgy Russian data center.
So, bottom line is, law enforcement can easily find me and I don't want to go to jail.
Thanks for the answers. Did Phoenix and Wallet of Satoshi ending support for the United States give you any second thoughts?
Yes.
I wouldn't be allowing Americans if Trump didn't win the election. The previous administration was very hostile towards crypto.
There's a cost for self custody. For new users to nostr and Bitcoin, I provide a simple to use service to get them started. The best thing to happen, would be a new user leaving my service because they've earned enough sats to setup their own Albyhub or Phoenix wallet, or Umbel etc.
Or, they buy a nice cup of coffee with the zaps they earned.
Thanks for that, I’ll keep you in mind when I’m helping people onboard. What you’re offering is very similar to nostr:nprofile1qqszpxr0hql8whvk6xyv5hya7yxwd4snur4hu4mg5rctz2ehekkzrvc64twc2. The main difference is they have established a reputation as a client. I only heard about you in the past 24 hours because I saw your reply to a new user. I’ve set up an nostr:nprofile1qqsg96chswrrp288wv0auzjtalmjk4gfvvz098n75ljy5uca2jugm8q5pvzeq instance to try out. The seamless integration with nostr:nprofile1qqsyv47lazt9h6ycp2fsw270khje5egjgsrdkrupjg27u796g7f5k0s8jq7y6 Go is nice. My concern is what happens if someone loses their NWC backup string.
