After a remodel of the home, I had a lot of left over 12" square slate tiles.

Alway looks for alternative weapon materials, I am making arrow heads, spear heads, knives, and small tomahawk from it.

The slate is softer than flint and less durable than steel. when it is what you have at hand, it will do the job.
