At a recent Bitcoin meetup a developer showed me a device (picture below he was holding) that could receive AND verify payments offline. The sender had to have online connectivity... but not the receiver.

Thinking about Squares' outage yesterday and can't help but think, #BitcoinFixesThis. Wonder if this this could be rolled out in Square to mitigate future payment outages. 🤔 Tag: nostr:npub1sg6plzptd64u62a878hep2kev88swjh3tw00gjsfl8f237lmu63q0uf63m

Interesting..this is for on-chain only i assume ?

I honestly don't remember if it was LN or onchain... or even how it worked under the hood. But a pin key was being sent and confirmed. It was cool.

Congrats on the little tykes achievement in your status BTW 🤙

Cashu could probably fix this as well.

Ugh, I don't understand this one yet. So many rabbit holes to undertake.

Is this e-cash? And chaumian mints or cash?

"Cashu is a free and open-source Chaumian ecash system built for Bitcoin" taken from https://cashu.space

It's like a bank check for Lightning. It's just text so the person can be offline and just scans a QRCode. It can check the value and mint offline. So when it gets online again it just has to redeem the sats in the "bank" the mint.

Check your dm.

Got it... thnx!
