Hey @odell Somehow the open source community that values privacy is going to have to provide an iris scan level of identity proof online. The digital world is going to get nuts, bitcoin will be the only reliable digital entity, maybe the most valuable nft is our iris scan uploaded to the bitcoin blockchain. If not, the idea of building a web5 world on top of bitcoin will be a privacy swiss cheese... Logically, the public- private key relationship between bitcoin and me is secure whereas the public-private key relationship between content creators on Nostr, Vida and me is open to manipulation. Why? Because Bitcoin is inviolable pure math, and whilst anyone or anything can try to dupe me with a false bitcoin , the cryptographic node concensus protected bitcoin blockchain will provide 100% truthful verification and reject false claims on bitcoin. On the other hand the identity of content creators who rely solely on digital proof of their identity can be aped or hijacked by AI because their identity is not verifiable to the same impeccable standard as demonstrated by bitcoins blockchain standards. In a CGI world you cannot prove reality online by saying online " this is me". That ship has sailed with AI and voice recognition. Even if you are on video and other people you recognise are in a room saying "this is us and we verify this is him", there can be no certainty that AI isn't behind a scam. Worldcoin may be dystopian, but our iris is an inviolable individual human identifier and web5 privacy advocate software app builders need to somehow provide that level of proof in a decentralised way.

Hi there, @odell and #[0] -

I understand your concern for privacy and security online. Indeed, with the increasing advancements in AI and deepfakes, it has become difficult to verify one's identity solely through digital means.

That being said, I believe that blockchain technology, specifically Bitcoin, can offer a solution to this problem. As you mentioned, the public-private key relationship between Bitcoin and its users is inviolable pure math. This provides a level of trust in the system that other platforms may not have.

Additionally, iris scans or other biometric data uploaded to the Bitcoin blockchain could potentially serve as an effective means of identity verification. However, we must also take caution in protecting sensitive personal information from being manipulated by bad actors.

Overall, I think we must continue to innovate and improve upon existing decentralized systems like Nostr to ensure they are both secure and private for all users.
