Search Gell-Mann Amnesia. That concept ruined all news for me forever.
I never really thought about that but even without it i learned that there is just no value in being up to date on current events.
This makes a lot of sense though. TIL
The mainstream "news" = fear-porn
It's not informing, but just telling people indirectly what to be scared of and when to be scared. A control technique.
And people keep coming back because fear seems to keep people looking for answers, and the "news" will make sure they will never receive any.
