If the US puts boots on the ground, there will be consequences.
Imagine if they try to go after the Temple Mount. It's the only real way Netanyahu can get the religious Jews on his side. They don't believe he's an ethnic Jew. That's a huge issue there.
But if they take the Dome of the Rock, all hell will break lose.
