once, by aliens, after, by the shadowy government

That's not true, I know many personally, regular folk, and one famous, who have seen many things and go on undisturbed. Most people just find it crazy and look the other way

I have spoken with one man who was abducted as a child, along with his brother, mother, and grandmother. Others in the area were abducted as well. This was 1969 in western Massachusetts. Recognized by the US government as first abduction in US. The mans name is Thom Reed, you can look him up youtube, they even did an unsolved mysteries and travel channel episode on his story
