That’s true. Doing KYC in China as a foreigner can be a chore to navigate. Doable, but a pain in the ass.

Also agree on the demonizing facial recognition by the West. What is ironic for me is that social credit scores - another hot (and wrong) trope about China - are sort of already present in the US if you think about actual credit scores. Was just there and watched my sister and brother compare and then debate how credit scores are actually modeled. Seems that no one knows.
