Last night, I completed the audiobook "Gai-Jin" by James Clavell, an absolute masterpiece. This book is the third of six in Clavell's Asian Saga (after "Shogun" and "Tai-Pan"), which explores the impact of the meeting of Westerners and Asians on both civilizations. The Audible version of the book is a delight to listen to, with the narrator skillfully executing the accents of different characters. Although I have been an avid reader my entire life, I only discovered audiobooks during the covid lockdowns. I find it deeply soothing and relaxing to listen to an engaging narrator tell a story, which has been the main form of evening entertainment for thousands of years. #books #bookstr
