Our 4yo surprises me all the time. He liked to watch dad playing Minecraft, then borrowed his controller and within an hour played by himself in creative.

So we planned him some allowed short time on xbox, whatever, he's outside whole days in forest kindergarten, can play afterwards.

Two week after he turned on Survival mode by mistake. I let him, at least he won't find the game so charming after first night. I explained to him how to get and create basics, since in creative mode it's all in inventory already. He got it immediately, survived several nights and now plays Minecraft on easy survival, no problems. I'm not saying he's good, but apart from slashing some creepers and sometimes asking for more information/translation he doesn't need us.🤨

Very well, time to introduce programming.
